Alsa buses use several stations in Porto and just one in Santiago de Compostela. You can buy the ticket from the station that is more convenient for you.

Porto - Vigo

There are two trains daily running from Porto to Vigo. They are operated by Comboios de Portugal under the name Celta train.

It takes about 2 hours and 20 minutes to cover the distance (note the time change from Portugal to Spain).

Vigo - Santiago

Trains between Vigo and Santiago run every 2-3 hours. Direct trains take about 1 hour 30 minutes. There are additional connections with a change in Pontevedra.

Flights from Porto to Santiago

There are no direct flights between Porto and Santiago. The best chance to get a flight connection with reasonable price and duration is via Madrid.
Iberia offers connections with a very fast transfer. Total duration is then 3 hours and 15 minutes. Prices start from 66€ if booked with enough time.
Alternatively, Ryanair operates flights between Madrid and both Porto and Santiago, that can be extremely cheap.
By combining some of those flights, you can get a one-way trip as cheap as 22€.
You will need to give yourself enough time for the transfer though, if you are doing separate bookings.
Otherwise, you can book with Kiwi.com, with whom you will pay a slightly higher price but you will get a transfer guarantee in exchange.
